Incident Documentation

All of KCAVP's services are free and confidential.

If you need help, call 24/7: 816-349-9371 or Email info@kcavp.org.

The vast majority of anti-LGBTQ violence is never reported. Even if victim-survivors choose not to report incidents to police, they may still formally document violence through KCAVP's advocates. KCAVP does not report crimes to law enforcement unless asked by the victim-survivor to do so. Advocates are not mandated reporters.

Reporting to KCAVP (whether or not you are seeking help for yourself or someone else) allows data to be collected to raise awareness, influence public policy, maintain funding for supportive services, and offer direction to our work. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of all advocacy services provided by community based advocates, who cannot be made to testify without the victim-survivor's signed consent.

If you need assistance or would like to document an incident, please contact us at info@kcavp.org or 816-349-9371.
