Hello Friend,
The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP) exists to provide information, support, referrals, advocacy and other services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) survivors of violence including domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate crimes.
A Word About Safety
Recently there has been a nationwide increase of internet related violence affecting LGBT people. We have also observed this trend locally. The majority of incidents involve internet dating sites such as adam4adam and craigslist.org. There have been reported cases of robbery, drugging, identity theft, and physical and sexual violence. If you cruise these sites whether for dating, sex, or substance use, you have the right to be safe and have your boundaries respected. Visit the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programsfor tips on safer online dating and hooking up.
Please be safe and contact us if you or anyone you know needs our services. All KCAVP services are free and confidential. You can reach us at (816) 561-0550 or contact Lindsey at

Our Outreach Partners
KCAVP conducts outreach at many opportunities. This month we thank the folks at Outtabounds for helping us Sing for Safety at their karaoke night as well as Dirty Dorothy and the folks at Missie B's for helping us raise some much needed dollars to help our LGBT community in need.
Your gift is critical to KCAVP continuing work to serve LGBT victims and survivors of violence as well as educating the greater community about these issues. Thank You!
